It contains many essays on Black History, plus a great section about Black Matter and Classifieds. Granville Sharpe history tidbit on this webpage is followed by a modern organization still trying to spread Christianity and fair trade to Sierra Leone, as Granville Sharpe was focused on. Here's a more standard bio of Sharpe with a good bibliography. Richard Allen -- Black separatism under the Anglican church. A good article with specific religious history of Quakers, Methodists, and the Anglican church in Philadelphia. Andrew Bryan is featured in this bio page from pbs.org. He is also featured on this page from oldestblackchurch.org, the website for The First African Baptist Church, which Bryan founded. The Mulatto People website revives the term mulatto and discussed the issues facing mixed-race people. The site has a section on Celebrities and Achievers. Moors in modern day Africa -- Mauritania is mentioned in the CIA World Factbook page for Mauritania. The factbooks says this nation is 100% Muslim and make no mention of minority religions. This is what is meant today by "Islamic State." |
