the Rookies Coffeeshop -- While De Rokerij below is very spacey and bhudda in it's style, the Rookies presents a more social atmosphere, and has more space. This makes it an ideal place for people to meet, so we have designated Rookies to be the official Channelites Unite meeting place. The Rookies also has hotel rooms available.

DE ROKERIJ -- See pictures in the Gallery.-- Tranlslated from Dutch, this means The Smokery. There are 3 locations, but I have only visited the one near Leidseplein. Famous for the really slow moving fans, great pot, and friendly staff somewhat tolerant of loud Americans. The decor is bhudda all the way, and the place is cozy. It's a great place to zone out, for those who like to zone out in coffeeshops. It's located up the street from the McDonalds in Leidseplein. Go to the coffeeshop.

THE LAST WATERHOLE See pictures in the Gallery -- One of my favorite places in the Red Light District, The Last Waterhole is 3 things in one - a coffeeshop, a bar, and a hostel. So in theory you could listen to live music, drink and get stoned, then pass out upstairs in the dormitory. Definitely only for those who LIKE sleeping in dormitories, but I always stop in to buy some pot and have a drink.

THE OTHER PLACE -- For those who like bikers and tatoos, The Other Place is across the street from the Bulldog in the Red Light District. Not touristy, more like an experience in anarchy. I like it. Don't know if they have a website.
