De Noodzak (formerly de Sterk) Deli-Nightshops is now the - Visselstraat location

Just up Visselstraat from Muntplein is a great nightshop, De Noodzak. De Noodzak means The Emergency, for whatever that's worth. This is a must visit place. Here are some things I like about it:

They are very tourist friendly, will listen to questions and make suggestions
Like most all nightshops, they're open till 1am for late munchie sessions
After 6pm at night they make dinner items to go, ask for a fork
They have the best hand made Dutch chocolates!
Really, these chocolates are better than any Godiva or Belgian chocolates
Great beer selection including Het Ij brewery from Amsterdam
Wonderful selection of wines and cheeses
They bake fresh bread, sell useful snack items: Ben & Jerry's!!

To find De Noodzak, start at Muntplein, then head up Visselstraat until you find the big ABN-AMRO bank buildings. Then look across the street for De Noodzak. Remeber they don't open until 5, although lately they were opening earlier. Also look for the Little Coffeeshop a bit further up.

Because the name changed recently, the sign now says De Noodzak, not De Sterk. But the shop still looks and is the same.
